However, the characters and cutscenes driving Final Fantasy VII Rebirth can often get bogged down by modern open world game bloat. Be it Ubisoft-level map icon clutter or an incessant collection mechanic; its pace can sometimes feel cumbersome.
Rebirth makes up for these shortcomings with its combat system, which innovates Remake’s real-time/pseudo turn-based combination to deliver a satisfying action experience. Chocobos provide unique maneuvers around the world by turning into rock climbers or floating across oceans – another innovative touch! Even with some minor setbacks, Rebirth still delivers nostalgia and cinematic style familiar to fans of Final Fantasy VII.
The Witcher 3
The Witcher 3 is an enormous game, which may take some time to adjust to. But once you do get involved with it, you’ll be thrilled by an incredible achievement in both genre and studio terms.
While The Witcher 3 features similar RPG elements as its predecessors, CD Projekt Red has made some tweaks that enhance the experience. Alchemy now feels more accessible through changes that simplify how potions and blade oils are utilized.
Another change that makes an enormous impactful statement about this game is how dynamic its economy now is, with prices changing depending on your environment and adding an air of immersion and handcrafted charm that makes leveling up and crafting equipment much more engaging compared to random generated worlds. This achievement stands out among similar titles from many games in its field!
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
Call of Duty Blackout offers its take on battle royale with its version, called Blackout. Although its visuals may seem outdated or even last-gen at times, its tight gunplay makes up for it and feels just as fast and chaotic as any modern shooter.
Multiplayer gameplay has been enhanced with innovative ideas like active healing and predictive recoil, enabling players to be more strategic without compromising the fast action. New Specialists and the Heist mode add variety, while Treyarch’s updates continue to make Black Ops 4 even better over time.
Treyarch has taken advantage of leaving behind traditional campaigns by dedicating much more resources towards improving multiplayer experiences, with excellent results. Though lacking single player campaigns may make this entry feel incomplete at times, it still stands as a worthy addition to its franchise.
Assassin’s Creed Origins
Assassin’s Creed Origins brings much-needed fresh air into a franchise that had begun to feel stagnant. Its expansive open world, deep RPG mechanics and compelling protagonist in Bayek all come together in this game that provides a revitalizing boost.
Ubisoft Montreal took steps to enhance the Assassin’s Creed formula with elements more akin to role-playing games, adding in improved levelling systems, new gear and an updated “hitbox-based” combat system. Bayek even has his very own pet eagle named Senu that can serve as an intelligence source. These updates add depth and variety to Bayek’s journey while replacing Eagle Vision entirely.
Parkour and climbing mechanics have also been improved, with parkour now feeling more organic and less repetitive and choreographed, while climbing now features an “adrenaline” system where players build up damage through combat in order to activate weapon-specific special attacks – giving an added dimension of thrill when tracking someone down and then offing them with an audacious leap.
